When is the BEST TIME to MOVE?

Checking the market to buy a new home is very exciting. It is the time of your life wherein you can be in a new place, a new neighborhood and buying new stuff for your new home. Once the decision has been made, and the place has been chosen, the next question is, when is the best time to move.

Today! Is the best time to move! However, moving can be a tedious work. It can be physically challenging, stressful and emotionally sentimental especially if you have lots of things you hold dear to you. When you are the hoarder type or the one who has a sentimental value mentality on all your things, this is the time to learn to segregate your stuff–donate, keep, sell and throw. Now you need to start packing and we will help you with the things you need to consider for your BIG MOVE.

First off, you need to choose the day wherein the weather is dry. It should also not be too windy, and no storm coming. You need to check the weather forecast for your chosen day. Be ready with lots of H2O and snacks for you and your movers.

Secondly, choose a day wherein traffic is a little better, and or school is out or it is not a rush hour. Ideally, a mid-week move is recommended especially if you are within the Metro or if you will be traveling from the City to nearby provinces or vice versa. You may choose to move during the 2nd or 3rd week of the month. It is less crowded with moving companies.

Thirdly, choose to move early in the morning. Cooler conditions will help you make the move much faster than choosing to move in the afternoon wherein the sun is scorching hot. Doing so, will give you more time to move out of your old home and move into your new abode. You will also have more time to unpack before the day ends. You will then be able to enjoy your 1st night in your new home because you were able to settle in early.

And for additional helpful TIPS.

Do not move during the holiday season or days wherein it is declared as holiday. Moving companies charge more during this time. Be able to check also the schedule of your moving company as well as the charges. Remember, charges differ per area, per city, distance and per availability of the moving company.
Do not try to move late at night. It will be a little harder to keep track of all your stuff as there might be things that are left behind or bad people lurking around.

Do not forget to plan ahead. Do your packing during your off and be able to file a leave from work that is more convenient for you.

Do get help from family and friends who you can trust.Do consider friends vehicles and a jeepney as an alternative to moving companies. But you need to take extra precaution.
